Overview

Family law is Pooja’s passion. She is motivated by the opportunity to guide people through significant periods of change and help them move towards a more secure future. She understands that behind every matter is a person managing uncertainty, stress and difficult decisions, and this understanding shapes her calm and client-focused approach.

Since her admission to practice, Pooja has developed a strong focus on family law and gained broad, hands-on experience assisting clients with divorce matters, parenting arrangements, property settlements and related matters. She believes effective legal advice begins with listening and provides clear, practical guidance tailored to each client’s circumstances and priorities. Pooja recognises that family violence and child-protection concerns are often closely connected with parenting and broader family law issues. She assists clients to understand how these areas may affect their matter, identify available legal protections and navigate their options with care, sensitivity and practical guidance.

Pooja has gained practical experience assisting clients with matters before the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. She is committed to advocating for her clients’ interests when necessary while exploring practical resolutions wherever appropriate, with the aim of reducing conflict, unnecessary stress and expense, and helping families move forward.

Fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi, with a strong understanding of Urdu, Pooja is well placed to support clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. As a mother and migrant herself, she brings valuable personal insight to her practice and understands both the legal complexities and human realities behind each matter.

Pooja is committed to continually developing her expertise and intends to undertake a Master of Applied Law (Family Law) in future to deepen her legal knowledge and practical skills. Pooja believes that further study in family law will strengthen her ability to analyse complex issues, develop effective strategies and provide clients with informed, current and carefully considered advice.
